LOCATION

"Wybalena" - meaning home or resting place - is a 170 acre organic farm located in the Byron Shire. It is a stunning property with rolling green hills, bushland, two spring fed creeks and several large dams. The property, with its natural beauty, serenity, and pristine air and water provides an ideal space to relax, rejuvenate, learn new skills, connect with others and enjoy life.

ACCOMMODATION

We stay in the large architecturally designed farm house with four bedrooms, swimming pool and numerous outdoor decks. The house has a stunning 20 seat dining table perfect for group dinners and a stylish communal lounge room. Adjoining buildings include another three dormitory style bedrooms and three 2 bedroom cabins.

ABOUT THE FOOD

The team at Wybalena practice permaculture, organic farming and sustainability. The majority of the meals served are sourced from produce grown on the farm. All meals are vegetarian and gluten free (with vegan options). Sample menu would look like this: breakfast - muesli, fruit, yoghurt, toast, tea and coffee; lunch - roast vegetables, hummus and salad; dinner - vegetarian curry with rice and salad.

Basic Room $890pp - Twin occupancy (two beds) in a dormitory style room in the wing adjacent to the main farmhouse with shared bathroom. N.B. Bathroom is shared by up to 6 guests. Suitable for guests on a budget.

Double/Queen Room $1,190pp - Guests will enjoy the privacy of their own double/queen bedroom in the main farmhouse or a self contained 2-bedroom cabin with shared bathroom (shared by max 2 guests) & living space.

King Room $990pp (based on 2 people sharing) - Suitable for couples. Guests will enjoy the luxury of a king size bed plus ensuite bathroom in the main farmhouse. Please enquire about pricing for single person occupancy of a King Room.

EARLY BIRD - Book by 31st August and SAVE $100.

Price includes all organic vegetarian meals, yoga & meditation sessions. Massage treatment extra cost option. Available by arrangement.

$200 deposit required on booking to secure your place. Balance payable by 31st October 2017. (Payment plans available.)

5 Elements Yoga & Meditation Retreat, Byron Bay

THEME

Our Autumn retreat this year will focus on the 5 elements, namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. As with Yin and Yang, the five elements are constantly pursuing harmonious relationships with each other. They rely on each other for their existence and management. If one element is weak or dominant, then all the others will also be affected. All things in the universe such as seasons, climates, emotions and internal organs correspond to one of the elements. This retreat run by experienced yoga and meditation teachers Amanda Zdanowicz and Miriam Van Doorn will focus on bringing harmony back into your life.

We will be learning about the 5 elements, trigger points to release tension and stress, specific yoga poses for each meridian corresponding to an organ, Chi Gung exercises to develop internal force also called Chi or Prana and unique yoga practices especially developed for this retreat to balance each of the 5 elements in the body.

The price of the retreat includes a 45 min foot reflexology and neck massage to balance the meridians.

LOCATION

We stay at Tallow Beach Houses, a private 30 acre sanctuary where the beach and the bush come together on the edge of the National Park. Situated halfway between the famous Byron Bay lighthouse and Broken Head with 630 meters of beachfront, uncrowded waves, the friendly wildlife, a tranquil lake and a bicycle track into Byron township complete the scene. 

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is in 2 or 3-bedroom beachfront cottages situated within a nature reserve and natural bush setting. Self-contained and secluded, each cottage has its own private kitchen/dining/living space and large undercover deck. Some cottages overlook the lake and the beach is just 60 meters away so you can enjoy a great night's sleep to the hypnotic sound of the ocean. 

ABOUT THE FOOD

Our vegan meals are lovingly prepared by Veet's Cuisine using fresh organic ingredients sourced from the local area. Each morning after yoga we enjoy a fresh healthy cleansing juice before our lovely buffet breakfast. Lunch and dinner are both delicious substantial meals but please note we cut out meat, dairy, most wheat and sugar so our bodies are gently cleansing. Tea and fruits are available throughout the retreat as well as purified drinking water. By the end of the retreat you'll be feeling energised, clear and nourished with recipes and ideas for continuing your healthy eating at home. Sample menu.

Spring represents an awakening of the senses, an opportunity to shed layers as you emerge from hibernation during the colder months. Join Amanda & Miriam for our 4-day/3-night Spring Detox Retreat and leave feeling vital and glowing and ready to hit the beach!

LOCATION

We stay at the lovely Gymea Eco Retreat & Spa set on 54 acres of secluded naturally undulating rainforest just 40 minutes inland from the Gold Coast with stunning views of Wollumbin (Mt. Warning) in the UNESCO World Heritage national Park. With abundant bird life, lush grounds with nature trails, a gorgeously appointed in-house Day Spa with steam, sauna, magnesium mineral salt jacuzzi, plunge pool and a beautiful 20 metre magnesium mineral swimming pool for healing dips.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is in 20 Eco Deluxe double rooms, which are all equipped with luxury 5 star eco inner sprung latex topped single or king beds. All bedding and room furnishings have been carefully selected to meet biodynamic or organic certification standards. Each room includes its own shower and toilet. If booking a twin share room we'll put you with a same gender person. Please note that the shower is in the corner of the bedroom but has an opaque screen so is not see through.

ABOUT THE FOOD

Our meals are lovingly prepared using fresh organic ingredients sourced from the local area. This is not a fast so you won't go hungry, however we cut out meat, most dairy foods, wheat, sugar, coffee and alcohol so your body will be lightly cleansing. Each morning after yoga we enjoy a fresh healthy cleansing juice before our lovely buffet breakfast. Tea and fruits are available throughout the retreat as well as purified drinking water. By the end of the retreat you'll be feeling energised, clear and nourished with recipes and ideas for continuing your healthy eating at home.

SPA PACKAGE

Included in the cost of the retreat is a 2 hour day spa session plus your choice of a one hour Therapeutic Massage or one hour Organic Facial. Additional treatments can be booked directly with the Gymea Day Spa.

The concept of balance in yoga is much more than standing on one leg. On this 4-day/3-night retreat we will explore the duality of Yin & Yang, and the need for both aspects in order to complete wholeness. Join Amanda & Miriam to explore the constantly changing nature of Yin & Yang, with asana and meditation practices that complement the rhythms & cycles of nature and restore balance to our daily lives.

Location & Accommodation

This is a residential retreat at the beautiful Tallow Beach Houses in Byron Bay. Accommodation is in self-contained 2-bed beachfront cottages situated within a nature reserve and natural bush setting. Each cottage has its own bathroom, living space and large undercover deck. Some cottages overlook the lake and the beach is just 60 meters away. Yoga and meditation sessions take place in the dedicated 'Yoga Shala' located on the property, or on the beach (weather permitting!).

The Connection is a film about how frontier research is proving that there is a direct connection between your mind and your health.

The film features scientists, researchers, writers and doctors, as well as remarkable true stories of people adding mind body medicine to their healing toolkit to recover from severe back pain, heart disease, infertility, cancer and multiple sclerosis. While the science is complex, the solutions for people suffering with illness are astonishingly simple. The film shows that we can counter the harmful affects of stress with an equally powerful relaxation response triggered through specific techniques such as meditation. It shows that emotions can impact the course of an illness for better or for worse and could even be the difference between life and death.
