In this workshop you will learn therapeutic release techniques to target trigger points in the back, neck and shoulders to restore muscle and fascia tissues elasticity and improve mobility using highly versatile therapy balls combined with stress relieving breathing techniques (Pranayama) to soften the body and mind. Many of us finds back bending challenging both physically and mentally, but despite its discomforts back bending can be one of the most therapeutic parts of a yoga practice. Bending backwards uplifts us by counteracting the negative effects of gravity, stimulates the nervous system, realigns the spine, relieves back pain, helps digestive and eliminating function, stimulates to open the heart chakra, helps to break through insecurity and fear, relieves stress, builds confidence and self-esteem, and last but not least invites us to be both brave and vulnerable!
In this 2 hour masterclass, we will focus on learning how to overcome limitations by freeing up the front of the body, thus enabling the spine more flexibility. Suitable for all levels and styles of yoga practitioners, especially those less confident with back bends. Cost $40 (Members $20).

Join Miriam van Doorn for a beautiful systematic approach into the challenging pose of Hanumanasana. This pose is named for the Hindu God Hanuman, and represents the supernatural leap he made from the southern tip of India to the island of Sri Lanka.
Hanumanasana requires flexibility in both the front and back legs. The front leg requires hamstring suppleness, and the back leg requires openness in the hip flexors (Iliopsoas). Hanumanasana is also the perfect pose to practice patience, but the real magic of this pose in is the opening that happens along the way. In other words, it’s the journey, not the destination.
In this enchanting workshop expect to be taken on a journey through Mindful Vinyasa, Restorative Yin Poses, Magical Storytelling and a Yoga Nidra (lying down meditation). Hanumanasana brings many benefits, including toned and strengthened muscles of the legs and abdomen; improved digestion; and greater confidence and courage to make the big leaps in life! Cost $40 (Members $20).
There’s a steadiness, a fullness that leads to great expansion when you align your body with the laws of nature. By realising that there is energy outside our physical form to draw from, our bodies can safely move in ways we perhaps never thought possible… and from that strength or insulation, the light that we shine sparks brighter and brighter with every breath, past our fingertips, past our toes, in an endless and inevitable cycle of connection.
In Grace Through Integration with Sheila Ferguson you will learn to engage your body energetically to experience lightness and stability in poses, control and ease through transitions, and fullness within while maintaining a delicate softness to your physical body.
