Yogathon 2025: CANCELLED

  • SoHo Yoga 16 Blandford Street Grange, QLD, 4051 Australia (map)

Brisbane Yoga Challenge

Challenge yourself to 108 Sun Salutations and raise money to support The Yoga Partnership!

REGRETTABLY THIS EVENT IS NOW CANCELLED. APOLOGIES FOR ANY DISAPPOINTMENT.

Why 108 sun Salutations?

108 is significant in yoga texts as a spiritual number that refers to “spiritual completion” or “wholeness of existence”. There are 108 japa beads on a mala, said to be 108 Nadis (energy channels that lead to the heart), Lord Krishna had 108 attendees (Gopis), 108 Pithas (sacred sites) across India, The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters, many scholars believe there are 108 Upanishads (sacred texts) and it is why we will do 9 rounds of 12 Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) to complete 108.

How fit do I need to be?

We won’t lie! This is a very physical endeavour and will challenge participant’s strength, flexibility and ability to stay calm and focused, but we have faith you will love it once you get going! It’s like a yoga marathon, so we suggest you do practice in the lead up, but as always will will offer rest and modifications along the way.

Who benefits?

Every dollar raised will go directly to support the work of The Yoga Partnership bringing yoga classes to people diagnosed with cancer, those living in remote areas of QLD, refugees settling into Brisbane, Women and children in DV shelters, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and more.

Is there a cost to register?

Yes, there is and you guessed it, $108 to participate. This is a tax deductible donation with all monies raised going back into our community programs.

This can be paid by an entry fee of $25 and the rest in sponsorship, or you can pay the $108 yourself.
