Yoga for mental health workshop brisbane
Q3 Theme ~ Meditation & The Art of Stillness
A practical, compassionate approach to meditation for modern life.
In a world that often asks us to move faster, do more, and stay constantly connected, meditation offers an invitation to pause, breathe, and return to ourselves. Not as another thing to achieve, but as a practice of presence.
This trauma-informed workshop explores the foundations of meditation in a way that is practical, supportive, and relevant to real life. Together we will explore the theory behind meditation, common misconceptions, how meditation supports nervous system regulation and emotional well-being, and why a busy mind does not mean you can't meditate.
Many people tell themselves, "I can't meditate because I can't stop thinking" or "I can't sit still." This workshop gently challenges those beliefs. Meditation is not about having a quiet mind or sitting perfectly still. There are many pathways into meditation, and together we will explore a range of practices to help you discover what feels supportive, sustainable, and accessible for you.
Participants will be guided through a variety of meditation practices, breathwork, and gentle movement designed to prepare the body and mind for meditation. Together we will explore different styles of meditation, offering opportunities to discover what feels most supportive for you.
A workbook is included so you can take the teachings home with you. We know that when we're learning something new, especially in a workshop setting, we don't always absorb or remember everything. The workbook offers a valuable resource to revisit key concepts, practices, and reflections, supporting your meditation journey long after the workshop has ended.
No previous yoga or meditation experience is required. This workshop is suitable for beginners, curious minds, and anyone seeking practical tools to cultivate greater presence, calm, self-awareness, and connection in everyday life.
Come as you are. There is no perfect way to meditate - only the practice of gently beginning again.
